Due to College of Charleston graduation the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture will be closed to the public on Friday, May 9th. Virtual services are available for research assistance. We will reopen on Monday, May 12th at 10am.

BUILDING: Due to College of Charleston graduation, the Avery Research Center will be CLOSED to the public on May 9, 2025. Virtual services are available for research assistance.

MUSEUM TOURS: We offer self-guided tours Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30am-12pm and 2pm-3:30pm. Large groups limited 25 people or less per time slot.

ARCHIVES: Researchers must have a consultation BEFORE making a research appointment. Contact us in advance for further assistance.
