**The Avery Research Center’s archives reading room is currently open by appointment only. **

Services

The Avery Research Center reference staff can answer questions about books, printed materials, historical or manuscript collections, or other items. Please use our contact form to reach us.

The staff will assist researchers in identifying and retrieving the material they need for research. To request materials for your visit, please get in touch with us with your materials request by making a consultation.

Schedule a Research Consultation

During a research consultation, an Avery Research Center archival and interpretation faculty and staff member will talk with you about your research question(s) and suggest resources to help. After the consultation, you will be provided a link to make your archival visit research appointment.

Explore digital collections and search the Lowcountry Digital Library.

BUILDING CLOSURES: We will be closed on November 4th and 5th due to staff professional development.

MUSEUM TOURS: We offer self-guided tours Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1030AM-12PM and 2PM-330PM. Large groups limited 25 people or less per time slot.

ARCHIVES: Researchers must have a consultation BEFORE making a research appointment. Contact us in advance for further assistance
